Residential atrium / park slope

At the heart of this newly renovated carriage house is a small atrium. This outdoor ‘room’, a focal point of the home, was designed to compliment the California Modern inspired interior.
Simple wall cladding was added to bring the interior sensibility into the garden and serve as a backdrop to the plantings.
The garden design is simple, Japanese inspired with a delicate Lace-leaf Japanese Maple as the focal point.
Hydrangea, Viburnum, Anemone, Begonia and Azalea bring flowering interest to it’s evergreen core to make a beautiful space in all four seasons.
