Bright, fragrant cedar lightened this backyard shaded by a mature Japanese Maple. Without disturbing the tree’s roots we had to bring the garden level up with raised planting beds.
The chevron deck pattern balanced out the minimal design of the custom built fence and beds. Down lights and tree spotlights sunken into the tree’s bed make the space glow at night.
The whites of azalea, hellebore, rhododendron, mt. laurel, skip laurel and astilbe blossoms bring a glow to this space in it’s shadiest moments.
